About

We all have magic wand moments, and mine was when I took a leap of faith deciding to write about the life I fondly refer to as one Grim fairy tale. I used to complain, gripe, bitch, moan, feel sorry for myself, act like a victim (ok well sometimes I still sort of do that,) and basically not love fully and freely. After pretty much being knocked down by life’s circumstances for…almost, well…ever, I decided to pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep going. I’m a survivor, of a lot of things. I’ve been told that I’m a fighter, strong, courageous, genuine, sensitive, real, and giving, to a fault. Ok, also dramatic, chaotic, over-organized, outspoken, loud, and silly. (Should I include germophobe, and cleanliness fanatic?)

Being a mother of 3 boys necessitates all of that regardless, but I do what I have to do when it comes to life in general. I am still married to my first and current husband for 20 years, we have 3 boys–two teens and one almost-teen. We have lived in a lot of places, I grew up in Indiana but moved to Boston in the late 1980’s. My husband is from Connecticut, our kids were born in Boston. We’ve all survived a heck of a lot and we both live to tell about it. Our kids will likely have a lot of kooky stories to tell their kids about how they will raise them totally differently than they were raised and maybe even laugh about it someday.

I love to do yoga, dig interior decorating, bargain hunting, bossing my family around, and writing.  Oh, I also enjoy wine, jazz, one particular soap (opera that is,) and embrace a realm of spirituality.

I will stop here and hope you enjoy just a little bit of what a real fairy tale looks like. (Think good reality tv and talk show-nuttiness.) My Fairy Princess Wand has been on backorder for years, but at least I got free shipping.
